Paris...endlich!

Finally here are some more pictures from Paris...

 View from our apartment window.

 Yuuummm...cheese!

 Love the Parisian architecture.

 Sacre Coeur

In the cable car going up to Sacre Coeur and Montmatre.  The video is bad because the car was so packed, but the music was fabulous I had to record.
Gela with the girls.

Loved this art deco sign at our Metro station.

Ecole Militaire as seen from the Eiffel Tower.

Louvre

Grace waiting in line at the Louvre. It was the first Sunday of the month so admission was free.  We thought, "Great, let's go!", but so did everyone else that lives in or was visiting Paris that weekend.
Lots of people, but so worth it.
Eiffel Tower at night.

Gela, always the teacher, helping the girls with a quiz about the Eiffel Tower.

 Versailles

Girls standing in front of the gates to Versailles.

 The gardens at Versailles

 Gela and the girls.

 Champs-Élysées from L'Arc de Triomphe.

The names of some of the German cities that Napoleon "conquered" are carved on L'Arc de Triomphe.
Some are not too far from where we live.

Memorial where Princess Diana was killed.

 From the Seine.

The obelisk that Napoleon brought home (stole) from Egypt.

 Notre Dame

The girls at the end of our very cold and windy cruise on the Seine.

Sarah sporting her newly purchased beret.

 Aux Champs-Élysées
It just so happened to be "Fashion Week".  This is about as close as we got to the action.

Assuming these ladies were models (everyone else did too).
Wondering what the other mothers would say if I showed up at the kindergarten wearing green tights and a fake fur coat.

Biggest, and by far the most beautiful department store I have ever seen.

The backside of the Paris Opera from the roof of Galeries Lafayette.
What a wonderful trip, and I am so grateful to Gela for being our guide.
