Austria

Saturday we decided to take a drive to Austria. Someone Tommy works with mentioned that it was a pretty drive. Pretty doesn't even begin to accurately describe. I will let the pictures tell the story:

Yes there is a road there, but doesn't it look as if the truck is just driving on the side of the hill?
We stopped just over the Austrian border at Haldensee. Will definitely go back here again. It is a nice little tourist village. Lots of people were out enjoying the nice weather!

Tunnel through the mountain. Don't look down!

Thought the clouds covering the mountain top were surreal. It really felt like we were in a different world.

Stopped here so the kids could play in the snow. When we left Rettenberg it was a pleasant 60 degrees. By this stop it was getting much colder.

Grace after getting pelted with a snow ball. Later when we stopped to eat she noticed her pants were wet and we found a partially melted snow ball in her pocket! Only Grace.

Sarah seemed to be the only one that was prepared with the right kind of clothes for snow!

Just thought the cabins were pretty.

We stopped in a town called Imst, Austria to eat a late lunch before heading back home. Lore Mae decided to entertain everyone in the Pizzeria.

We took a different route home. This is Schloss Fernsteinsee (Castle Fernsteinsee). You can stay in the castle or the adjoining hotel. They also had a large camping ground. There is a lake here as well.

Fernsteinsee

We made one last stop to play in the snow. Cy happy to be throwing snowballs at his sisters.

Not happy when Daddy threatens to throw one at his Mommy!

Sunset on the way home!
